A very special Halloween album

Designer Digitals creative team member "Mugsbigsis" (Kelly) has been using the "Life in Pictures" photobook templates for digital scrapbooking to create a wonderful chronicling Halloween through the years with her sons.

I love this album, and how it creates something so special from these photos similar to the ones that nearly everyone has stored in their albums or boxes.

The album is a compilation of photos that span from her children's first halloween to herself dressed up (for the first time) after they had all left home.

"We always take pictures of our kids dressed up for halloween, but we don't usually do anything with them except put them in a box or album of mismatched photos", Kelly says. "My halloween album was totally inspired by the Life In Pictures templates. As soon as I saw them I knew they would be perfect for a book like this. They would provide just the right amount of cohesiveness for my pages without limiting me if I wanted to change things up a bit with each page."

About the scrapbooker:

Kelly describes herself as a wife, a mother to 3 grown boys and a dog owner with a love of all things art - which for her means needlework, quilting, photography and digital graphics.

"Digital scrapbooking is not only art, but also a way for me to document and a way to express myself," she says.

"Sometimes a photo "speaks" to us, but scrapping that photo gives it life. It helps the viewer see what we want them to see and feel more of what we want them to feel."

"I love the freedom to create. I don't have to think about it. I just start scrapping. I also love that I'm creating something that can be enjoyed years down to road. I'm able to preserve photos and document things (that I don't even realize I'm "documenting" sometimes) in a creative way that I enjoy. It makes me happy."

Kelly prints her photobook albums at Blurb, which she now uses almost exclusively because she finds the colors perfect and matching what she sees on her monitor almost exactly.

"Their premium paper is wonderful and best of all I didn't have to try to figure out how to navigate the site. They have software that you download to your computer and work on whenever you want.  When you are finished with your book you just upload and print," she says.
