Oriental Bay, Wellington

A couple of weeks ago we went for a stroll along Oriental Bay, where the water was incredibly clear thanks to the recent cold snap.
Rather than retrace our steps back along the promenade to the car, I suggested we walk up into the streets and hill behind and follow a track back that way.

With much huffing and puffing we walked up a practically vertical street to access the walking track, and followed it along a considerable distance past houses, then through trees and a reserve before winding back down through houses again to the promenade.
About 20 metres from where we had left it last time. I wasn't very popular.
Along the way we saw a house I loved:

Or how about this one? (No road access and a lot of time for clearing overgrowth required!)
